Rodolfo V\u00e1squez Mart\u00ednez, director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/JbmPeru\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Botanical Garden of Missouri &#8211; Peru<\/a>, his wife Blga. Rocio Rojas Gonz\u00e1les (researcher in vascular plant taxonomy) and the Envol Vert de <a href=\"https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/en\/sit\/pichanaki-chanchamayo\/\">Pichanaki<\/a> team (local coordinator and a volunteer).<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;\"><p>All this research was developed in several stages:<\/p>\n<\/div><ul style=\"--awb-iconcolor:#ea773d;--awb-line-height:23.8px;--awb-icon-width:23.8px;--awb-icon-height:23.8px;--awb-icon-margin:9.8px;--awb-content-margin:33.6px;\" class=\"fusion-checklist fusion-checklist-1 fusion-checklist-default type-icons\"><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p>In order to obtain this application, the MaderApp research team collected anatomical samples in the plots of some of our participants of the Agroforestry and Conservation Project in Pampa Azangaro and Nueva Esperanza; both belonging to Pichanaki as we already <a href=\"https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/en\/fd\/the-value-of-conservation-for-the-advancement-of-research\/\">mentioned last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p>In a second stage they collected botanical samples of the trees that were anatomically supported by the Universidad Continental, this at the end of October 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p>Then they developed a model with convolutional networks with more than 1000 images of macroscopic characteristics and finally, with the generated model they developed and implemented a mobile application for the recognition of 26 certified forest species by their botanical and anatomical characteristics.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ul><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:1.5%;margin-bottom:1.5%;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;--awb-sep-color:rgba(224,222,222,0);border-color:rgba(224,222,222,0);border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-image-element \" style=\"text-align:center;--awb-caption-title-font-family:var(--h2_typography-font-family);--awb-caption-title-font-weight:var(--h2_typography-font-weight);--awb-caption-title-font-style:var(--h2_typography-font-style);--awb-caption-title-size:var(--h2_typography-font-size);--awb-caption-title-transform:var(--h2_typography-text-transform);--awb-caption-title-line-height:var(--h2_typography-line-height);--awb-caption-title-letter-spacing:var(--h2_typography-letter-spacing);\"><span class=\" fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-1 hover-type-none\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"383\" title=\"[AGROCAFE] MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL\" src=\"https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AGROCAFE-MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL_-600x383.jpg\" alt class=\"img-responsive wp-image-44711\" srcset=\"https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AGROCAFE-MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL_-200x128.jpg 200w, https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AGROCAFE-MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL_-400x255.jpg 400w, https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AGROCAFE-MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL_-600x383.jpg 600w, https:\/\/envol-vert.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/AGROCAFE-MADERAPP-APLICATION_MAY2022_O.VIDAL_.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/span><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:1.5%;margin-bottom:1.5%;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;--awb-sep-color:rgba(224,222,222,0);border-color:rgba(224,222,222,0);border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;\"><p>This research project is one of the pioneers in Peru in developing a prototype for wood recognition, through a cross section of the wood and by means of its macroscopic anatomical characteristics. A multidisciplinary research team, as well as public and private institutions participated in this project.
