The event marked the first internal experience-sharing internship of the year and took place in the communal tree nursery. It brought together participants from various localities, including Pueblo Nuevo, Saipai , Arabe, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Mariategui, Anda and La Muyuna, who enthusiastically joined in.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-1 sep-underline sep-solid fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-four\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:0px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\"><h4 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:16.8;--minFontSize:16.8;line-height:1.29;\"><div class=\"fusion-fa-align-left\"><i class=\"fb-icon-element-1 fb-icon-element fontawesome-icon fa-seedling fas circle-no\" style=\"--awb-iconcolor:#3aaa35;--awb-font-size:30px;--awb-margin-bottom:5%;\"><\/i><\/div>How did activities take place ?<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to promote community work and provide knowledge on forest conservation through practices such as composting and rearing native stingless Amazonian bees. A total of 36 people (including 44% of women) participated, organized in three small workshops which facilitated learning during 20 minutes in each group. This activity was carried out for one day.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><ul style=\"--awb-iconcolor:#ea773d;--awb-line-height:23.8px;--awb-icon-width:23.8px;--awb-icon-height:23.8px;--awb-icon-margin:9.8px;--awb-content-margin:33.6px;\" class=\"fusion-checklist fusion-checklist-1 fusion-checklist-default type-icons\"><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p><b>Workshop 1 : Ecological alternatives<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants discovered how to create composts and make bio-repellents to combat leafcutter ants. Our participant, Mr Jeninson Verdi Zevallos, shared his experience in the construction of compost bins and the composting process. Moreover, our volunteer Guillaume introduced practical examples of bio-repellents, which aroused great interest among those present.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p><b>Workshop 2 : Community work<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this group, participants focused on the importance of community work and shared experiences in organization of community projects. Our participant, Mr Auslender Puente Salvado, highlighted the success of the production of agroforestry seedlings in this tree nursery. Participants shared challenges and solutions related to this activity, promoting a valuable exchange of ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><li class=\"fusion-li-item\" style=\"\"><span class=\"icon-wrapper circle-no\"><i class=\"fusion-li-icon fa-angle-right fas\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"fusion-li-item-content\">\n<p><b>Workshop 3 : Pollinators<br \/>\n<\/b><b><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We review previously discussed concepts about pollinators. Then, Mr Juan Perez provided valuable advice on breeding <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tetragonisca angustula<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while our volunteer Merly emphasized the critical importance of pollinators in agriculture. The 36 participants demonstrated their strong commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable agricultural practices. We noted a particular interest in future workshops on bio-repellents production and native stingless bees breeding, which points to a promising path towards more environmentally friendly agriculture in Pueblo Nuevo.
