The objective was to obtain field data from the evaluation of the palm tree of interest.<\/p>\n<p>Reaching the area required time and handling situations that only the Amazon forest can present. Thus, we found an electric eel that prevented us from identifying the species (<em>Electrophorus electricus <\/em> and <em>Electrophorus voltai<\/em>\u00a0with the DNA study we did in March), due to the speed and caution we had to take.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we could carry out the georeferencing, sizing and cluster counting of 82 individuals of <em>Mauritia flexuosa<\/em>, in two forest management units (FMU). This data will be submitted to the Forest and Wildlife Management Unit Ucayali &#8211; Contamana in Loreto. This is part of the process for CCYM to obtain a permit for the sustainable use of natural resources other than timber.
