Once again this year, Envol Vert organised the fourth edition of the Wood and Forest Festival in collaboration with the Association for the Promotion of Products from the Angl\u00e8s Plateau during the Local Products Fair. The entire weekend of 9 and 10 August was dedicated to promoting local stakeholders and woodworkers. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is an opportunity for us to raise awareness while sharing moments with those involved in this sector, whether they are foresters, sawyers, carpenters or simply hikers. Our projects, including the SEVE project, <\/span> aim to promote multifunctional forestry in the Haut-Languedoc region and to boost the local artisanal wood industry. What better occasion than this event to do so! <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

What is our role in all this? To ensure that everyone enjoys themselves while raising awareness, we take part in discussions to help you better understand our actions, our resources and our forests. We address all these topics to help you better understand our economic and social impact on these environments.
\nSo, on Saturday, a day in the forest was organised on the Angl\u00e8s plateau in the commune of Lasfaillades to reconnect children and adults with nature through walks and themed workshops. The morning walk was led by Sabine Frack, who took us to the forests belonging to her family, which had been owned by her ancestors since the 19th century.
\nAfter sharing a meal at midday, we moved on to the land art and writing workshops, where we created mossy constructions under the Douglas firs and wrote poems under the sequoias. Finally, we all gathered for a vocal creation workshop with L\u00e9a Swan, where we did soul painting and everyone was able to express themselves musically in the shade of the forest trees.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

During the local produce fair on Sunday, woodworking demonstrations and craftsmen were present, and<\/span> several conferences and woodworking workshops were held around the refreshment stand. <\/b> <\/p>\n

The lively atmosphere throughout the day set the pace for exchanges, both at the stands and in the square, where sculptures, furniture, jewellery and other creations of all kinds were on display. The cheerful atmosphere of the reunion highlighted the market, and even during the lectures, you could hear the sounds of chisels being used by children to carve wood. Throughout the day, visitors were able to walk around the site, enjoy refreshments and learn about the techniques and wood species used in instrument making. In the afternoon, they were able to follow the open debate between Calhel, Ga\u00ebtan Dubus and Sabine Frack on the future of the forests of the Haut Languedoc . <\/span><\/p>\n
