A community day was recently organized to strengthen environmental protection in the hamlet of Ca\u00f1o Rodrigo. It brought together residents, community leaders, and local stakeholders. The 17 participants gathered at Ms. C\u00e9cilia\u2019s home. All interested in preserving the Socomba River and its surrounding area, they attended a comprehensive presentation. This presentation explained the context, objectives, benefits, and commitments of the conservation agreement.<\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/div>A Community Day for a New Conservation Agreement<\/p><\/h3><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

During the meeting, a collaborative space was set up. This allowed participants to share their thoughts, concerns, and proposals regarding the protection of the hamlet\u2019s environment. One of the highlights of the day was the creation of the environmental committee. It will play a key role in supporting and monitoring the activities planned for the area. Starting with this meeting, various strategies for raising environmental awareness and visibility were discussed. The idea of installing eco-friendly signs at strategic locations throughout the hamlet generated interest. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/div>An Environmental Committee and a Slogan to Protect the Socomba River<\/h3><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

At the end of this participatory event, the community chose the official slogan: \u201cThe Socomba River is life; caring for it is everyone\u2019s responsibility.\u201d This message will guide educational and awareness-raising efforts. New initiatives were also proposed, such as strengthening social media networks, building relationships with schools, and coordinating with local stakeholders. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/div>Concrete actions for youth and the local area<\/h3><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

Activities have also been planned for the coming weeks. On the agenda: cleanup days, monitoring of flora and fauna, training sessions, and community assessments. The community particularly emphasized the importance of involving children, youth, and rural schools. It even proposed the creation of a Youth Council to actively participate in conservation efforts. The day concluded with a time for collective reflection and a community meal. This reaffirmed the commitment of the Ca\u00f1o Rodrigo community to care for the land and protect the Socomba River. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
