Conservation Coordinator for the ConBosque Project in Colombia

Mario is a biologist with a Master of Science in Biology, specializing in Ecology and Conservation, and has more than 14 years of experience in applied research, biodiversity monitoring, ecological restoration, and conservation project management in Colombia. His career has focused on integrating scientific knowledge with community-based work, promoting participatory processes that strengthen ecosystem protection and social ownership of biodiversity. Rather than simply studying nature, he is motivated by understanding the patterns that organize life and transforming that knowledge into concrete actions for conservation. He views science as a tool for generating knowledge, strengthening local capacities, and building bridges between people and the land, convinced that conservation is only possible when research, communities, and respect for nature move in the same direction.
