The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) was established to promote competitiveness, sustainability, and diversification in rural areas. It funds the European rural development policy. The EAFRD’s main objective is to contribute to the balanced development of rural areas in Europe.
It supports a variety of measures aimed at improving agricultural competitiveness, encouraging economic diversification, promoting the sustainable management of natural resources, strengthening local food systems, fostering innovation, and improving the quality of life in rural communities.
It has supported APMA’s efforts to consolidate and disseminate lessons learned from supported agroforestry projects in the Tarn and Hérault departments for over six years, as well as the SEVE project for its dissemination of knowledge in support of multifunctional forest management in the Haut-Languedoc region and the strengthening of the region’s resilience to climate change.
