Achiote paste is a concentrated preparation made from the red seeds of Bixa orellana. It has a smooth texture, an intense red color, and a distinctive aroma, making it ideal for coloring and flavoring dishes.

Producers partnered with Envol Vert harvest and select the seeds, soak them, extract the natural color, and then gently reduce it to obtain a concentrated paste.

This artisanal processing adds value to agroforestry systems, where achiote grows within the plots, helping to reduce grazing pressure on forests.
The production of achiote paste helps diversify the local economy, makes better use of an often underutilized fruit, and strengthens the traditional skills of the communities supported by Envol Vert.

It is easy to use: simply dilute the paste in a liquid or a little oil to add color and flavor to your preparations.
