In 2015 Flora joined Envol Vert as a voluntary intern on our ecotourism project in Tarapoto, Peru with APFF (Asociación de Protección de Flora y Fauna). The six months spent in the heart of the “selva alta” (topical forest at altitude) revealed to her the importance of fragile ecosystems and their unique ties to the local population.

Following this first field experience left for Ecuador in 2016 to support the population in the wake of a violent earthquake (7.8) three months earlier. Once again, the relationship between man and his environment was central to her thinking. She grasped to how great an extent the social context is tied to its ecosystem. It’s this multi-faceted dimension which convinced her of the relevance of Envol Vert’s approach. The association exists to ensure the forests are protected but equally to seek economic alternatives which unleash the forest’s value without destroying it.

A graduate of Grenoble Business School since 2017, she remains committed to Envol Vert in France where she is a member of the Communications Team
