Civic Service Volunteer with the SEVE project, Tarn, France
After completing a double degree in STAPS (sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities), Gabriel decided to take another look at his career, given his desire to do another year of work-linked training in a company in a field that he was particularly passionate about. As he had done last year in a tourist office, he wanted to repeat the experience the following year, but this time in forestry.
After weeks of looking for a job that met his physical and psychological needs at the local mission, he discovered the job of forestry technician. This led to a search for a work placement, which in turn led to a search for work experience.
That’s why doing a civic service with the Envol Vert association would enable us to make new contacts in an area that is rich in forestry culture and experience, while at the same time drawing on the knowledge we have gained from our previous professional experience in the tourist office. In this way, we could combine the useful with the pleasurable, discovering a new branch of the profession while developing our knowledge of sustainable forestry, with the aim of completing a BTS in forestry management the following year.
The forest, then a subject of passion, is taking on a new meaning, and he is looking forward to becoming a professional in the field. He remains convinced that he will soon be able to find a work-linked placement in the field, to support project leaders and local players in forestry development.
