In March, the annual kick-off meeting was held with all the villages participating in the Tropical Dry Forest (BST) project in Ovejas, one of the municipalities in the department of Sucre, Colombia. It was an opportunity to officially welcome the representatives from the village of El Pedregal, who joined the project last year. In addition, the new members of the Envol Vert team were introduced: Luis Noche, Conservation Coordinator, and Clémentine Conrath, Conservation Volunteer.

The team presented its action proposals for 2026, which were discussed with the community.

Among the main points addressed were activities to strengthen communities through the formation of environmental committees, with the aim of monitoring the implementation of the two community conservation strategies signed in 2025 and ensuring the community has greater visibility with public authorities. They also discussed training community members to take on a more active role in promoting conservation and marketing forest products.

Meanwhile, as activities to develop economic alternatives to deforestation continue, biodiversity monitoring will proceed with the goal of uploading inventory data to specialized biodiversity platforms.
