On Saturday June 28, members of the P.I.A.F (Projets d’Initiative Agroforestière) got together for an afternoon of meetings rich in exchanges and perspectives. A discussion on the structuring of the brand-new association took place, in the form of rotating workshops to shape the project’s next step together.

The meeting was part of the Ecoviviales event at the Cabrols farm. A festive and committed event, it features association stands (such as Envol Vert), entertainment, forest walks and even open-air shows. This introduction provided an opportunity to review the birth of PIAF : the creation of the association, the setting up of its new board, and the opening of a bank account. A new chapter has begun ! Participants circulated between three themed workshops, enabling collective reflection on key points in the development of PIAF.

The first workshops focused on the choice of a digital platform to structure and coordinate PIAF committees. While no definitive tool was chosen, discussions did identify some essential requirements : a discussion space for members, a drive with differentiated access, and interactive mapping of farms. This common base will serve as a foundation for future technical discussions. More to come on this digital platform !

The second workshop looked at the PIAF’s intentions and priority missions, particularly in the event of the project not receiving GIEE funding. Four main themes emerged :

  • Two major objectives : to support new agroforestry projects and train current members
  • Two secondary objectives : to create forums for exchange and to raise public awareness of agroforestry

The final workshop focused on the new project proposed by Envol Vert, in conjunction with the PIAF support committee. Through a process of soliciting opinions (a participatory method in which decisions are validated in the absence of objections), the project was positively received by the members. This new project would support the PIAF in its search for funding, and Envol Vert could become a financier of this new ambition.

These meetings illustrate PIAF’s determination to build a collective project rooted in the region, structured and open, where each member contributes to the growth of an agroforestry based on solidarity.
