The “Súmate al Bosque” festival took place in the district of Santo Domingo de Anda on September 25th, organized by Envol Vert with the support of its allies among which we have IIAP (Institute of Investigation of the Peruvian Amazon), DEVIDA (National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs), the municipalities of LEONCIO PRADO and ANDA, ATTFS (Technical Administration of Forests and Fauna) who presented their most recent research. It was an opportunity to receive companies such as NUA, SEMIFOR, BAMBOOM, MISHA RASTRERA that presented products based on the sustainable use of forests (essential oils, seeds, bamboo derivatives, cosmetics, etc.) and some local associations and companies such as the agricultural association of Anda.
In addition, the festival was an opportunity for our participant Elena Valverde de Anda to sell her products and promote her brand of local fruit yoghurt and other organic products from her plot, FRUTA SELECTIVA TINGO MARIA.
The participants of the project “Agroforestry cocoa in the Peruvian Amazon” came from eight different villages to learn about, taste the local products and spend some quality time with their families.
At the end of the day, the “heroes of the forest” were rewarded for their efforts to conserve the forest areas on their plots.
The “Súmate al bosque” festival was a great success for the sustainable initiatives to promote their products. Also for the consumer to discover sustainable products, favorable to the conservation of the forest and its biodiversity.
