The year 2021 was particularly busy for Envol Vert, which was celebrating its ten years of existence and ten years of fight to preserve forests and biodiversity.

A quick overview :

  • In France, the SEVE project was born. Its main objective is to develop fair, living and committed forestry. To achieve this, the project’s development strategy includes involving citizens in the sustainable management of forests.

  • The year 2021 also sees the launch of the Ruta Agroforestal. This free online platform is a tool for organisations that want to strengthen their capacity to implement sustainable rural development projects. La Ruta Agroforestal is 10 years of agroforestry experiences made available for free.

  • In Latin America as well as in France, we have participated in many awareness-raising events, including the World Conservation Congress organised by the IUCN in Marseille and Súmate Al Bosque. Formerly known as Colombiodiversidad, this festival has been revamped to become Súmate al Bosque, a Colombian and Peruvian edition that is more activist and open to all. This event welcomed nearly 80,000 spectators.

  • In addition to our engagement on the ground, we continued to mobilise through advocacy against the Casino Group. This year has been an opportunity for coalition members to continue their work against the harmful impact of the cattle industry in South America, and the task is not over.

  • Finally, in 2021 Envol Vert will be celebrating its tenth anniversary. A well-deserved anniversary, celebrated in France, Peru and Colombia. These few days spent together have strengthened our ties and reminded us that being an “Envolverdian” is also a real human and solidarity adventure. However, we still have a long way to go to accomplish our mission, but together we will get there.
